BIOGRAPHY

I received my Ph.D. at the University of Arizona in 1972 and then served postdoctoral fellowships at both the University of Arizona and the University of California. I spent 10 years working in Arizona, and then came to Syracuse University in 1977.

I teach BIO 345: Population Biology, BIO 431/631: Population Genetics, BIO 795: Speciation, BIO 401: Tutorial in Population Biology, and BIO 421: Undergraduate Seminar in Biology. Most of my teaching is done during Spring semesters.

My professional interests and work include collaborative research on Scaptodrosophilia in Australia, funded by the National Science Foundation. I'm also researching evolutionary ecology, ecological genetics, community ecology, microbial systematics and molecular evolution.
